COMPARISON BETWEEN AND WITHIN FAMILY SELECTIONS WITH THE COMBINED SELECTION IN PROGENY TESTS OF Eucalyptus grandis
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study used six experiments involving half-sub families of Eucalyptus grandis, which were carried out by Celulose Nipo Brasileira S. A. (CENIBRA) at six locations. Data on circumference at breast height and plant height were measured. Selection methods among and within families were compared with combined selection. The combined selection was superior to selection among and within families due to higher estimates of genetic gains, and also for selecting a larger number of families for recombination.
