CHARACTERIZATION OF THE FOREST BASE INDUSTRIES MANAGEMENT OF THE STATE OF MINAS GERAIS

Abstract
This research studied the profile of the forest companies’ managers in order to contribute to workers professionalization, and the form of action of the current occupants of managerial positions of forest companies in Minas Gerais state. It was identified three managerial levels in the studied companies: the strategic positions, general management and supervision. The occupants of strategic positions work with a wide context trying to achieve companies profitability. While occupants of general management and intermediate management are in charge of the intermediation among the hierarchical levels, they plan and control activities, administration of projects and execution of goals. In the operational level, the focus is the people's discharge, which uses as a motivation mechanism the development, the motivation itself and the discipline.
