FLORISTIC-STRUCTURAL COMPARISON OF THE REGENERATION AND ADULT LAYERS IN CERRADO SENSU STRICTO IN CENTRAL BRAZIL
Main Article Content
Abstract
Floristic composition and phytossociology of the natural regeneration layer, in permanent plots of the cerrado sensuvstricto in Fazenda Água Limpa, FAL-DF were analyzed to verify the representativity of the current regeneration in relation to the adult community. All individuals with height less than 1 m in the subplots of 5 x 5 m, placed in the 21 permanent plots of 20 x 50 m were measured. The floristic composition for the regeneration layer included a total of 27 families and 49 species and Shannon diversity of 3,21. Sørensen s index showed a high floristic similarity between the regeneration layer of 2006 and the adult layer in the eight monitored periods. It was founded differences between the species with highest values of importance (VI) in natural regeneration and adult layer of the community. The highest density of individuals in the regeneration than in the mature phase and the high similarity between the two layers at all occasions suggest a dynamic equilibrium and the possibility of maintenance of the current floristic community with possible changes in the hierarchical in the main species.
