A PRELIMINARE STUDY OF THE USE OF BAMBOO AS A STRUCTURAL ELEMENT IN CONCRETE PAVING
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents a study developed to evaluate the use of bamboo peaces as a structural element in concrete paving. The proposal was to use pieces of bamboo in the structure of the pavement , reducing the consumption of cement. In addition, it was attempted to obtain an adequate resistance to compression and the reduction of weight, which is also an additional benefit in terms of cost and transportation logistics. The compression test results, with a replacement factor of 8,9%, was close to the ones obtained in the control group, therefore the study indicates the technical viability for the utilization of the bamboo as a structural element for the confection of concrete blocks.
