URBAN TREE SURVEY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BRASILIA CAMPUS

Abstract
A census of all the trees on 111 ha was conducted at the University of Brasilia campus. A total of 5,011 trees with DBH over 5 cm were identified and their DBH, diameter at 30 cm on ground level, diameter under the bifurcation point, height up to the first bifurcation and the total height of the tree were measured. Phenological observation was also carried out. A great diversity of trees was found composed of 49 botanical families and 154 species. The main species are Acrocomia aculeata, Syagrus oleracea, Inga marginata, Pterogyne nitens, Caesalpinia ferrea, Caesalpinia pluviosa, Peltophorum dubium, Pachira aquatica, Syzygium cumini and Tabebuia impetiginosa.
