ESTABLISHMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF Hevea spp. CLONES IN PARACATU REGION, MINAS GERAIS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluated the initial growth and the establishment potential of twelve hevea clones cultivated in Paracatu, Minas Gerais State. Randomized blocks were used in a scheme of subdivided parcels with four repetitions; the parcels were composed by 12 hevea clones (Hevea brasiliensis Müell Arg.) (PB 235, PR 255, IAN 3193, IAN 3087, IAN 3156, IAN 2880, RRIM 600, RRIM 701, PR 107, IAC 15, IPA 1 and GT 1), planted in a 10 x 2 m spacing. The sub parcels represented the four annual evaluations. The plant survival, the stem circumference and plant height were evaluated until five years old. The data were submitted to analysis of variance and average tested through Scott-Knott with 5% of probability. Hevea clones presented different establishment potential in the studied region. The clones RRIM 600, GT 1, IAC 15, LCB 510 and IAN 2880 presented 100% survival rates but they did not presented differences between the stem circumference and height of the tree at five years old.
